Preity Zinta Gets ‘Up Close and Personal’ With Salman Khan

Preity Zinta is the host of her new television series Up Close and Personal on UTV Stars. Her latest episode features Salman Khan! With all the success this Khan has seen with his latest release Bodyguard, I am sure many of you want just a little bit more of this persona.

Video Look-A-Like: Salman Khan’s ‘Character Dheela’ and Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte’

Bollywood is not an entirely vast and diversified industry, but blatant similarities between films, choreography, costumes, and sets will resonate with viewers. This week I caught the promo for Salman Khan’s upcoming film Ready which showcased the song “Character Dheela.” Salman and Zarine Khan bring this song to life with inspiration from old Bollywood.

Zarine Khan’s gold dress in this video takes me to Kareena Kapoor in “Yeh Mera Dil” from Don. Then we go on to a black and white scene where we see the rain and flashback to the 1955 classic “Pyar Hua Iqraar Hua.” As the video continues, grand costumes and royal mannerisms are a reflection of Mughal-e-Azam. It doesn’t end there as this couple pays tribute to Sholay as well!

Minus all the small tributes within this video, this entire concept of collective flashbacks was brought to the silver screen a few years ago….

Shahrukh Khan is all about his star power when it comes to Bollywood! In each of his films he has impressive cameos and brought the same enthusiasm to Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi with the song “Phir Milenge Chalte” Shahrukh’s song embodies amazing lyrics that name countless classics. The colors, costumes, moves and accessories of each era are present in this video adding to the impact. Shahrukh Khan did the tributes extremely well in this flick and the cameos by Kajol, Bipasha Basu, Lara Duta, Preity Zinta, and Rani Mukherjee don’t hurt.

Am I not giving Salman Khan enough credit for “Character Dheela” or is he following in the footsteps of Shahrukh Khan?
