Madhuri Dixit Signs ‘Dedh Ishqiya’

Madhuri Dixit got married and made a big move to the United States, now she has moved her family back to Mumbai so she can step back into her film career. The wait is over for Madhuri’s comeback film as this actress has confirmed that she will be starring in Dedh Ishqiya.

Keeping up with the times, Madhuri revealed the news on Twitter. She shared, “Hey guys, back in action. On set for Star’s Life OK. Am doing Dedh Ishquiya . Jhalak right around the corner. More to come!” There has been quite a bit of speculation into Madhuri signing the film, this news comes as a pleasant surprise.

Dedh Ishqiya is a sequel to the 2010 release Ishqiya. The original film starred Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah, and Arshad Warsi. The film was a milestone performance by Vidya Balan. When conversation of a sequel began, the nation doubted that anyone could top Vidya. Of course once Madhuri’s name was thrown into the pile, there is hope for a success part II.

Madhuri Dixit Immortalized is Wax

Madhuri Dixit was studied and sized up earlier this year for the creation of her wax figure to be displayed at the world renowned Madame Tussauds museum.

At the time of her meeting with Madame Tussauds, Madhuri said, “I am really thrilled I am going to be included at Madame Tussauds. It’s a real mark of achievement and to be recognized for ones art and work. It’s also wonderful to be following in the footsteps of other Bollywood stars and some of my personal heroes!”

Now with the statue complete and on display, Madhuri says, “I am thrilled to be here in Madame Tussauds unveiling a wax figure of myself. It’s incredible just how detailed the figure is – they have captured my look beautifully! I feel very humbled to be included alongside other Bollywood stars and some of my personal heroes.”

I am very impressed with this statue, I just wish Madhuri chose a different sari, I do not like this pepto bismol pink number.

Madhuri Dixit Turns Down Hollywood Cameo

Oh Madhuri, I know you are a diva, but come on!

Actress Madhuri Dixit has moved back to Mumbai and is picking up her career right where she left it. With her induction into Madame Tussauds, you could say this actress didn’t miss a beat.

News reports have it that Madhuri was asked to make a cameo in a Hollywood film as herself in a dream sequence. With a generous offer on the table, Madhuri declined saying she will only be seen in starring roles.

Playing a cameo of yourself…that’s a form of flattery in Hollywood no less.

Madhuri Dixit Returns to ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’

When Madhuri Dixit made her comeback after her move to America, she starred in Aaja Nachle. Her next move was as a judge on the reality dance competition Jhalak Dikhla Ja. Now that this actress and dancing queen is permanently back in Mumbai, she has committed to yet another season as judge on Jhalak Dikhla Ja.

While on the show, Madhuri was seen dancing quite a bit, I’m looking forward to watching this show for another season.

Performances from the 57th Filmfare Awards

The 57th Filmfare Awards took place and we know all the winners, now let’s take a look at the performances.

The show’s first performers were the newlyweds Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza. The song choices are great, costumes are nice, but Genelia has no grace or swag so watching her was a bit painful. Luckily Riteish carried it off.

Deepika Padukone brings a ‘sexy’ performance with “Dum Maaro Dum” and “Subha Hone Na De.” The performance was a bit of the mess, stunts were sloppy. I am also not a fan of Deepika’s outfit.

Priyanka Chopra’s set is full of comedy, favorite songs, and lots of fun. I love her simple sleek outfit and her hair pulled back. I always cringe when Priyanka gets the spotlight, but this went quite well.

Comic relief and Bollywood’s hottest gal, Madhuri Dixit, bring the next segment…I can’t describe it, but I loved it. Madhuri is such a good sport.

Kareena Kapoor brings Cirque de Soliel elements to the beginning of her performance before it becomes a party with hits from her films Ra. One and Bodyguard. What’s up with the boots?

Next, last but not least, is King Khan, Shahrukh Khan. This man is a born performer and so charming. The show starts with stunts and ends with kids and it’s all mesmerizing.

Madhuri Dixit-Nene Gets Measured for Madame Tussauds Figure

Madame Tussauds London has an incredible display of Bollywood stars. Amitabh and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are popular exhibits and then you can turn to Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan. The dreamy men continue to pour in as Hrithik Roshan is also immortalized in wax. The latest edition is the young and successful Kareena Kapoor. Now the Bollywood dancing queen Madhuri Dixit-Nene is getting measure up for her induction into the museum.

Look at the existing statues, each one looks incredible and Aishwarya has recently been updated. Kareena’s face does not entirely resemble her so I’m not too crazy about her statue, but that’s not her fault.

Madame Tussauds, London released their official announcement today saying “The Madame Tussauds team are so excited about 2012 – and we’ve got another new figure announcement for you. The next Bollywood star to join Madame Tussauds London will be Madhuri Dixit-Nene. She will be joining the attraction in March 2012.” This comes at a perfect time in Madhuri’s career as she is in the comeback phase after taking time off in America to raise her two boys.

Madame Tussauds reveal “The award winning actress Madhuri Dixit-Nene is the latest Indian film star set to join the A-list line up here at Madame Tussauds London. Madhuri, famed for her dazzling dancing, has already given a sitting to our sculptors in Mumbai and is expected to unveil her likeness here in March. The decision to include Madhuri is set to delight Bollywood fans around the world as we are constantly inundated with requests to feature Madhuri. Her figure will make a stunning new addition to our Bollywood area, which continues to grow in popularity every year. With so many awards to her name and a career spanning over 25 years she undoubtedly deserves her place here and we expect huge interest in the figure when she takes up residence next year!“

Madhuri’s statue look will be a casual pose. She will be dressed in a Manish Malhotra sari and be seen donning her luscious long hair. The sari will be elegantly wrapped and draped over Madhuri’s shoulder mirroring the actress we see on a regular basis.

As excited as fans are about the stature, Madhuri is too. She says, “I am really thrilled I am going to be included at Madame Tussauds. It’s a real mark of achievement and to be recognized for ones art and work. It’s also wonderful to be following in the footsteps of other Bollywood stars and some of my personal heroes!”
