Item Girl Vidya Balan in ‘Ferrari ki Sawari’

Vidya Balan is taking her Bollywood career to a new tier with her first official item song for Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s film Ferrari ki Sawari. Vidya will be seen in a glamorous look and shots will be lush and one picture from the song has already been unveiled!

One source reveals to an Indian newspaper, “She’s [Vidya] never really attempted an item song before, so there was some skepticism. But once she saw portions of the film and met up with Vidhu, she was sold on the idea.” The song is being described as a major highlight of the film; we are not sure what the cast will have to say about the buzz, but Vidya will surely pull in a crowd!

The same source goes on to add, “Vinod and Vidya share a great professional equation since her big break in Parineeta. Naturally, it was very hard for her to resist the offer. There’s no rush to shoot the song, which tentatively will be shot early next month. The team wants Vidya as involved as possible in the process. They’re trying to make her feel as comfortable as possible.”

Vidya was pleased with her performance and I am looking forward to seeing what she brings us.

The Dirty Picture has hit theaters and caused quite a ruckus; rather than taking the hits for being too raunchy, the film’s camp has put out a music video for the song “Honeymoon ki Raat.”

Vidya is the star of this video with a slew of outfits and her complimentary hair and make-up. I have not watched The Dirty Picture, but already I cannot picture anyone else carrying off such a bold role.
